The Fred Knapp Trio featuring Jeremy Siskind on piano, and Dave Rosin on bass will be playing a rare concert at the Grand Rapids Community College Music Building (corner of Lyon and Ransom) this Thursday, Oct. 29th.

They’ll be performing standards and originals from there latest CD, “Song for Jaden”.

The concert starts at 7:30 with tickets priced at $5 for students and $10 for adults.

ABOUT SUNDAY CLASSICAL CONCERT SERIES:
GRAM’s Sunday Classical Concert Series resumes this fall! This series began modestly in the fall of 2008 with 20 people in attendance. Today, the concerts easily attract hundreds of guests each Sunday. The Museum’s Wege Pavilion is a unique venue for experiencing live classical music amidst GRAM’s beautiful architecture. The Series is a showcase of 20 performances by world-renowned musicians, and is open to the public and free for all GRAM members. Come for the music, stay for the art!

2015 WMBCA Bengali Cultural Extravaganza

Celebrating the 12th Annual Bengali Cultural Festival in West Michigan

The Western Michigan Bengali Cultural Association (WMBCA) is pleased and excited to announce the annual celebration of the cultural extravaganza ‘Durgotsav’ on Saturday, October 24, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. through 10:30 p.m. at Comstock Park High School at 150 6 Mile Road NE, Comstock Park.

The annual festival will once again offer all the entertainment and activities that festival-goers have come to expect, experiencing the dynamic array of ethnic attires, jewelry, traditions, cultural expressions, and authentic cuisine of the Indian people. The cultural program is bound to mesmerize you with the variety of regional folk dances and traditional attire fashion show by the local talent. This year’s special attraction will be the performances by two international artists; classical dance recital by Sanjukta Banerjee from Canada and Bollywood music and more by Shovon Ganguly and his live band from India. Children will enjoy fun activities at the Kid’s Corner. This festival is a way to sharing, educating, promoting, and preserving the traditional and modern aspects of Indian arts, history, culture, cuisine, literature, and heritage.
